On the Dance Floor is a new live album and concert film by RAHU, a band that has been creating music together since 2016. Rooted in jug band traditions and known for their acoustic sound, playful spirit, and strong connection to dance, RAHU brings together traditional dance tunes, adventurous ballads, and original compositions from Latvia and beyond.

This release grew out of a long-standing idea: to capture the natural exchange of energy between musicians and dancers. Recorded live, the album features 13 tracks — a vibrant mix of well-loved Latvian dance tunes, traditional medleys such as “Polka 4ever”, original pieces like “Kapusvētku polka” (Graveyard Festival Polka), and fresh interpretations of Latvian folk songs including “Zīle” (Tit Bird) and “Nāve” (Death). All arrangements are crafted with the dance floor in mind.

Pēteris Narubins – vocals, guitar, mandolin, stompbox

Lauma Bērza – violin, vocals

Ben W. Goldsmith – saxophone, ukulele, vocals

Evita Bambāne – double bass, vocals

Drawing inspiration from English, American, Australian, French, Finnish, and Latvian traditional music, the band creates a sound that feels both grounded and joyfully open.

The accompanying live video captures 90 minutes of RAHU’s shared live spirit — music, movement, and the collective joy of dancing together.
